Who Knew eBooks Would Catch On?

I’ve been noticing more and more eBook advertising lately. Honestly, when my publisher put my book into eBook form I didn’t really think much of it. Call me old fashion, but I’ve always envisioned a book as paper pages I had to turn every time I came to the bottom of them. The eBook concept was just hard for me. But the more I learn, the more it seems eBooks are catching on. As I understand it, Amazon’s Kindle is really popular. I walked into Sam’s Club and found they’d released their own eBook reader. A number of my friends have even been recommending eBooks they’ve enjoyed as of late. I haven’t tried reading an eBook yet, but I am more inclined to now.
In case you are an eBook reader, Only Angels Are Bulletproof is available as an eBook. Just check out my website’s home page for more information. It is not yet available on Kindle, but we are working on that. If you would like to see it on Kindle, look up Only Angels Are Bulletproof on Amazon and find the “Tell the Publisher you’d like to see this book on Kindle” button to the left.
Happy Reading!

Instant Messaging From 2ft Away

Have you ever realized you’ve developed a really strange habit? I instant message my brother, sometimes all day. Why is that strange? His desk is approximately 2ft away from mine. We don’t need to raise our voices at all to speak. If I roll my chair just a little to the right, I can see him face to face.
I think it all started as a joke. You know, “Haha, I’m instant messaging you even though you’re only 2ft away.” But somehow that’s developed into a string of day to day communications. If he’s working on a project that he wants my opinion on, he can send it over. If I want him to review something, I can do the same….Okay and yes, we can share funny You Tube videos very easily. He’s even figured out a way to take over my screen if I need him to fix something.
Hm, I’m not sure if this is a case of technology making life better or just stranger.

In The Fire

Okay, this struck me as neat, so I thought I’d put it up here. I’ve heard the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego approximately a hundred times now. ;) And I’ve heard it from lots of different angles as well. But I was listening to one of my favorite teachers recently and she looked at one particular aspect in a different way.
To refresh, the trio was tossed in a ferocious fire, expecting to be burned alive, but instead there was a “forth man” in the fire who kept them alive and well. The point she made was Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were tossed into the fire bound. I.e. in bondage. So, often when we are in bondage to something, we have to meet Jesus in the fire before we can be free.
I just thought that was a neat way of putting it. :)Of course we know that even when we walk though the fire we shall not be burned. (Isaiah 43:2) :)
